5 days 4 Nights HK trip

Light show isn%26#39;t very long, and is early evening. That can be done anyday really.Ocean park is worth it but will take at least 1/2 a day. So will Disneyland. Ladies street is just a market. How long you spend there is up to you, but the stuff they sell isn%26#39;t that brilliant, it is however close.

I would also go on the star ferry, doesn%26#39;t take long and the views are good.

5 days 4 Nights HK trip

Bo Lo pau (buttered bread): Kam Fung Teahouse on Spring Garden Lane, short walk from MTR Wan Chai Station exit A3.

hi Yik Mei,

This will be our 1st trip to HK also, can u please share your experience in HK when u come back?hope to get more information.Heard that dim sum in HK is very good but...much much expensive then msia.

Hope u would share with us your experience

Dim sum: search in the forum for recommendations

Bo Lo Pau: most local bakeries have fresh batches coming out in the morning and also in the afternoon around 3pm to 4pm. Kam Fung recommended by Tin is a good one. Also try their iced milk tea.

Dou Jiang (soy milk) Qi Fan (dried minced meat and preserved vegetable wrapped with sticky rice): Shanghai Hong Kong Noodle serves excellent for both. It%26#39;s at Jardine%26#39;s Bazaar across Sogo. See link below.

www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr2.htm鈥?/a>

Tong Shui (Chinese style dessert soup): type ';dessert'; into the forum search box above. Two places I recommend:

Ching Ching at 81A Electric Rd, Tin Hau

www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr2.htm鈥?/a>

and

Glutinous Dumpling King at 45 Pilkem St, Jordon

Yu Kap (fried pigeon): go to various Cantonese restaurants for this dish. I don%26#39;t recall shops that specialize in pigeons only.

me and 2 more friends are also going to hong kong for 5D 4N in 25 apr, will favorite this thread to see for updates.

Hi viekmei,

Taking your preference of the places that you have in mind.

First, it is a 5 days, 4 nights, with one night in Macau, where your trip to Macau is on the third day

So, first the outline:-

Day 1:- Arrival into HKIA

Day 2:- In HK

Day 3:- depart for Macau;stay a night

Day 4:- return to HK from Macau

Day 5:- Departure back to Malaysia

I do know that you will be leaving from KL on an early morning, implying that you will be going to the airport very early also,as flight departs just after 6am,if flight touching down at 1030am.

Okay, if you are excited and energetic;from the airport;you have choice of Big Buddha(Tian Tan) or Disneyland. I reckon you will be pushing yourself to the limit to do both;on day 1.

Anyway,let take Big Buddha first:-

from the airport, take S1 shuttle bus, which will take you to Tung Chung MTR station;then now,you have choice of either taking a cable car or bus to Ngong Ping (for Big Buddha).

Before that, there is luggage storing facility at Tung Chung Cable Car terminal(rate:- HKD20/first 3hours).

If weather conditions allows and cable car is operating,I suggest taking this cable car;if there is fear, then take NLB bus #23 from Tung Chung bus terminus to Ngong Ping.

However,if you decide to do both;then when back to Tung Chung, take MTR from Tung Chung MTR station to Sunny Bay MTR station, then from here,a Disney themed train will take you to Disneyland Resort MTR station which is next to park entrance.

Your luggage? retrieve from Tung Chung cable car terminal, and there should be lockers/storing facility in Disneyland.

Check into Dragon Inn.Take MTR to Mongkok, which is closest to Dragon Inn.

Day 2:- if did not do Disneyland (or big Buddha) on Day1,then this is the day to do it.

So, if you have only done one sight on Lantau island on day 1,then in evening be at Avenue of Stars to catch the Symphony of Lights show, which takes place at 8pm,and only last for about 20minutes.Then from here, proceed to Ladies Market, which is until around 11pm.

Then you can now head to Lan Kwai Fong(SoHo).

Day 3- I assume you want to maximise stay in Macau,so early ferry, since you are in Kowloon, take New World first ferry into Macau.Ferry duration is around 75minutes.

Day 4- depart back to HK;suggest you come back to HK around 2pm,then check in to Dragon Inn, take MTR to Wong Tai Sin MTR station for Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin temple;then to Victoria Peak.

then LKF(SoHo),if could not do it on the other day.

Day 5- do not know when is your time of departure;see if can fit in Ocean Park;otherwise,am afraid in view of above suggested, you may have to come back to HK again for Ocean Park.

Furthermore, you will be also on food hunting -for that Ching Ching dessert shop, you take MTR to Tin Hau.Their famous Tong Shui is at this shop known as Yuen Kei at Main Street,Central(HK island);otherwise settle for Ching Ching,or even at Sweet Dynasty, along Canton Road, opposite of China Ferry Terminal(where you take the ferry to/fro Macau).

As for Bo Lo Pau-well, it is also shaped like a pineapple,an not of pineapple jam or flavour,it is buttered, and you can have it with their stocking tea at any char chan teng around Mongkok area.

wow thanks for the fantastic itinerary!

my trip is slightly different from yiekmei, 2 of us (me and gf%26#39;s brother)will land in macau around 25 apr 1510hrs (tiger airways), while my gf will arrive in hong kong around 1930hrs 25may (jetstar)

stay in TST , USA hostel from 25th apr till 30th apr, then move to macau on 30th apr( accomodations not yet booked)

my gf will depart back to singapore on 30th apr 1110 hrs 30th apr , but me and gf%26#39;s brother will depart from macau at 1540 hrs on 1st may

also visiting the same areas as yiekmei, needed some transport advice.

Hi yiekmei;do make sure, you do not confuse yourself between Dragon Hostel and Dragon Inn Hostel.

Your stay in Dragon Inn Hostel(locally known as Ah Shan hostel) is on 14th floor of Sincere House, whereas there is Dragon Hostel, also within Sincere House, but on the 7th floor.

Well, after being in a pressurised air cabin, then the buzz in Hong Kong International airport;there is tendency for one%26#39;s mind to be confused.

So, focus at one thing at one time, and slowly you will gain your bearings and enjoying your holidays.

Hi mTiaraTravel,

That very kind of you ! yes, i book ah Shan hostel not Dragon Hostel :-)

By the way, based on your personal opinion, what kind of local food should i must try in HK ? where can i get it ? especially Yu Kap...

Is the dim sum more expensive than Malaysia ?

Heard lot of comment that the goods in Ladies market just as our local pasar malam...if i want do some shopping, any place that you can recommend ??

How is the weather ? just like Genting ?

Thanks !

Hi yiekmei, as for yu kap;most chinese restaurants have this-though the best,is said at Shatin;well I guess will be out of the way for you.

As for dim sum-well, frankly put,in KL, dim sum has more variety than the one in HK;as for prices, well,it really depends where you eat it in KL(in my case);if say in Damansara Uptown or the one in Sea park, then the prices in HK is slightly more expensive, but if I compare with those that I had in few restaurants in KL hotels(such as Chynna(KL Hilton), Ritz Carlton, etc;then the price of dim sum and also their tea is bearable la.

If you are into Tong shui, I suppose the one known as Yuen Kei on Main Street on HK island is well known, especially for a herbal tong shui(with or without an egg);suppose to be good for complexion also;and if you are into their peanut, walnut paste tong shui, this is also the place; however, for easier to reach, since you are taking a ferry from CHina Ferry Terminal,is the Sweet Dynasty.

Then for your yu kap,you can go to Crystal Jade in HArbour City.
