Zhuhai, Guangzhou & Shanghai

I am planning to go for my holiday this coming June. Thought of going to either Zhuhai, Guangzhou or Shanghai. What can I do and see at these 3 places? I am interested in scenery and shopping. Is it possible to go to these 3 places in the same trip? Are they far away from each other? How should I travel to each places?

Thanks

Zhuhai, Guangzhou %26amp; Shanghai

Excuse me, have you thought about reading up on destination guides, either in print or online? If you don%26#39;t want to buy the books, Frommers and Rough Guide are readable in their entirety online. Or, go to National Library, Borders or Kinokuniya to read for free. Below are some URLs to start you off.

How much time do you have? None of these are particularly noted for scenery. All are reasonable shopping destinations, it depends on what you%26#39;re shopping for.

It%26#39;s possible to go to all 3 destinations on the same trip, but it depends on how much time you have!

Zhuhai and Guangzhou are relatively close to each other, Shanghai is quite a distance away. Please look up a map of China.

Travel to each place from WHERE?

Zhuhai, Guangzhou %26amp; Shanghai

Ellyse, thank you for the link. Actually, I would appreciate if the real travellers can advise me on the area either shopping, places of interest, transport or any other things if possibe. They have the real experience whereas internet information is in general.

To be very frank, I got a lot of valuable information previously from the real travellers when I was travelling to Hong Kong/Macau. These information cannot be found in the internet. Macau was new to me at that time but after all the correspondence, it made my travelling easier. As for Hong Kong, I get to know more about cheap shopping area. I really appreciate those who help me. Although internet information is good but might not be so detail.

Anyway, I%26#39;ll be starting off from Singapore. I do not mind which places I landed first. I really hope someone can advise me where should I start off first and how to go about it, maybe Zhuhai first then to Guangzhou and off to Shanghai and back to Singapore.

Thanks in advance

As I already replied earlier, these 3 destinations are NOT noted for scenery -- by which I suppose you mean green outdoorsy areas. Otherwise, please clarify. In Guangzhou you might want to try Baiyun Mountain which%26#39;s a little north of town.

If you%26#39;re looking for shopping, it would be advisable to specify what you%26#39;re shopping for, and whether it%26#39;s for personal fun, or business wholesale, or something else.

If you%26#39;re NOT looking for general information, and have done your homework already, please give more specific questions. I%26#39;m not in the habit of writing open-ended essays, and I don%26#39;t know what would be of use or interest to you.

For flights, Tiger Airways flies budget between Singapore and Guangzhou, but not to Zhuhai nor Shanghai. Spring Airlines flies budget between Guangzhou and Shanghai, but you%26#39;ll need a Chinese bank card with e-banking facilities to buy. If you%26#39;re NOT looking for budget airlines, then please consult travel agents in Chinatown where they usually have better deals. Flying open-jaw would be a better option so that you don%26#39;t backtrack, but might be more expensive.

Confirming that Zhuhai is not an international airport so your otpion are as Ellyse has pointed out - Shanghai or Guangzhou. (and possibly Macau, although I don%26#39;t know which airline flies there from SIN).

If you want scenery whether historical or natural I%26#39;d suggest adding Hangzhou and/or a Yangtze ';water town';. With about 10 days I%26#39;d spend 3-4 days in Shanghai; 2 each in Hangzhou %26amp; Guangzhou, 1 in Zhuhai and allow 1 for travelling between Shanghai/HZ %26amp; Guangzhou. Obviously if you have more time you can increase the time accordingly.

In Hangzhou you can see the famous West Lake (XiHu) and the many scenic spots around it, Longjing Tea Village, Silk Museum and LinYin Temple to name a few.

Guangzhou has the Chen Family Academy %26amp; the Tomb of the Nan Yue Emperor plus the quaint early European settlement of Shamian Island. There are buses to Zhuhai every 15 minutes (allow 2 hours) and the main attractions are the fresh seafood %26amp; the cheap shopping in the Gong Bei Plaza.

Hi Zuhai2007, maybe I can consider your suggestions,

it seems quite interesting. You really give me a headstart. I heard that Zuhai has a very nice view, did I get the info wrong? Maybe I can start off with Macau by Jetstar, then take a bus or taxi to Zuhai but how about the rest of the places, how should I go about it. Can we travel on our own or follow the tour? How about the transport and hotel, are they easily accessible? As for shopping, we are looking for middle-aged and teenage clothings.

Thanks so much.

Zhuhai is quite pretty but has no specific ';attractions'; other than the shopping malls. Easy to walk into Zhuhai from Macau so that is your other option as I mentioned before.

One advantage of using Macau/Zhuhai as an entry point would be to then use Spring Airlines for flights Zhuhai-Shanghai (Hong Qiao)

I think Spring Airlines is no longer operating the Zhuhai -- Shanghai route.

Hi Zuhai2007 %26amp; Ellyse, thanks for your information.

Cheers!

Zhuhai to Shanghai(hongqiao) at 11:40 every morning afaik. (around 600 RMB)

Thanks.
