Best Dim Sum locar near Kowloon city

The official geographical boundary of Kowloon City district encompasses a very large area. Can you be a little bit more specific? Do you mean the old airport area?

Best Dim Sum locar near Kowloon city

hi thanks for repy... well is near kowloon tong station...

You may want to check out the restaurants at Festival Walk:

Alternatively, it%26#39;s quite easy to hop on the train at Kowloon Tong station to East Tsim Sha Tsui.

The Shangri-la, Royal Garden, Renaissance Kowloon, all within close walking distance from the ETST station have excellent Chinese restaurants.

Dynasty at Renaissance Kowloon is my personal all time favourite and the one at Royal Garden will be my second choice to be followed by the one at Shangri-la. I am not ';excited'; with the one at Sheraton Hotel.

Go to www.discoverhongkong.com for additional information.

there are SO much yummy cuisines/dining options in Kowloon City, don%26#39;t bother going DIM SUM !!!!!

Dim Sum nearby would be Fook Yuen Seafood Restaurant, 4th floor of Kowloon City Plaza.

Katetam - I think SmallTownBoy77 is looking for a restaurant near the Kowloon Tong MTR station. Is KCP that one on Carpenter Road near the old airport?

well, Kowloon City is the area where the OLD HK int%26#39;l airport used to be. There is NO subway/MTR that reaches there. Lots of locals shop here, for food, small eats, clothes, gifts, toys, chinese medicine, and tons of very delicious dining options that are affordable, and small family run restaurants.

Kowloon Tong is the closest KCR station, or second closest MTR station, as Lok Fu is technically the closest MTR station to Kowloon City.

If you are looking for Kowloon Tong, no CHEAP dim sum in that area. Closest is Prince Edward or Shek Kip Mei.

Nice restaurants are in Festival walk, Exit C at Kowloon Tong station, and it%26#39;s an upscale shopping center. I like Jasmine for the dim sum, there is another in the lowest level, but that isn%26#39;t as good.

Jasmine is owned by Maxims%26#39;, more fusion/asian food, but nice decor, decent food, and more expensive than normal Maxim%26#39;s, but you will feel it%26#39;s more upscale, and therefore, the reason for it being slightly more expensive than Maxim%26#39;s normal dim sum restaurants.

Kowloon City Plaza- totally newly renovated last year, so all new look. Yes, it%26#39;s the one on Carpenter Road.

The official boundary of Kowloon City encompasses a very large geographical area including Kowloon Tong. The western limit is the railway track of the East Rail. It is not limited to the area near the old airport.

Yes, I am aware of that Teddy.

My point is speaking Kowloon City in ';local'; terms for everyday usage and transportation purposes.... that is the Old Airport area. Anyone who gets into a taxi and says ';Kowloon City'; that%26#39;s where you are going to be brought to. No one refers Kowloon Tong as Kowloon City

Although the area ';Kowloon City'; according to the city planning boundaries is another different reference.

To expand on Kate%26#39;s post, Wan Chai District actually consists of Wan Chai Happy Valley and Causeway Bay but locals refer to the three separately.

Anyway, Kowloon City is well worth an hour or two. Get a meal at one of the small restaurants and see the old shops. There is a new picture book I saw at PageOne book store recently that focuses on old shops. Many of them are situated at Kowloon City.

EXACTLY Sammyfloyd.

I would hate for someone visiting to HK go home and tell people Kowloon City is nothing special ,just one big shopping center called Festival Walk !
