Qingdao - what do locals do? Kids?

Hi. I will be going to QD in April until at least end June (will be teaching English) and I like local color, markets, etc. I do not care ot buy brand names, but want to see local food markets and those which sell all kinds of things, where tourists usually do not go.

Any ideas? I will be in Shenyang area of QD, but will have weekends free.

Are there any activities for young kids (5-7) as I will be there with my daughter.

Any suggestions would be welcome. I%26#39;ve been to China before, but never for any extended period of time.

Your Chinese is pretty good, at least you could say %26#39;Xiexie%26#39;! Ha-ha:)

I think what you want say is Chengyang area, am I right?

For young daughter, maybe you could go to seaside or Polar Ocean World. There are some good restaurants in QD. You could taste almost all kinds of Chinese foods.

Also I could be your local guide if you wish.
