I am considering a visit to china in september, I have been offered a deal at Hotel Hyton and I am told I can do excursions to The wall rerracotta Soldiers etc can anyone confirm this and also thoughts on the hotel if you have stayed there.

No these places are not possible to visit from Sanya, unless you fly to get to these place.
Terracotta Warriers are in Xian and Great wall is near Beijing!
You should do these as another trip! But Yalong Bay in Sanya is a great place to relax before or after visiting these places!
