airport, po lin, luggage question

We are only in Hong Kong for a couple of days so want to make each moment count.

We arrive early in the morning, I have read it is possible to go directly from the airport to Tung Chung and then the 360 cable car to Ngong Ping. Return to Tung Chung and MTR into central. Leaving our luggage at Tung Chung.

However, if possible we would like to get the #2 bus from Ngong Ping to Mui Wo and then the ferry to central. Therefore is it possible to leave luggage at Ngong Ping? Are you allowed to take luggage on the cable car?

The other thought was if we visited on our last day, again taking the ferry/bus routes and the cable car and train to the airport. Again luggage concerns, can we use the express check in system to check our bags and NOT use the MTR from central to the airport.

airport, po lin, luggage question

Ngong Ping 360 has luggage storage facilities at its Tung Chung Terminus but not at the Ngong Ping Terminus. I%26#39;m not sure whether they would allow you to take luggage on board but you could always e-mail them info@np360.com.hk

However even if you get to Ngong Ping with your luggage another problem may be that the number 2 bus doesn%26#39;t have proper luggage storage facilities and you may not be allowed to take bulky luggage on board. You could take a taxi from Ngong Ping to Mui Wo which would cost about HK$125. If you%26#39;re really keen to do the ferry ride from Mui Wo to Central you could leave your luggage at Tung Chung, make a return trip on the cable car and then take bus 3M to Mui Wo (takes about 40 mins or maybe a little quicker since the upgraded Tung Chung Road opened). It%26#39;s a bit of a circuitous route but at least you%26#39;ll get the ferry ride.

With regard to the Airport Express In-Town Check-In you don%26#39;t have to use the Airport Express to get to the airport after you check-in. However in order to pass through the barriers to reach the In-Town Check-In at the Airport Express Stations you need an Airport Express ticket or Octopus Card and the fare is deducted before check-in so you stand to forfeit the fare for the Airport Express journey if you subsequently use another form of transport to the airport.

Sorry should have mentioned that those departures of bus 3M marked ';R'; in the timetable have luggage facilities;
