The Shanghai International Auto City Theme Park

If you%26#39;re thinking of Shanghai International Automobile City (http://www.shautocity.com/english/index.htm), it exists, but it%26#39;s not a theme park in the ';amusement park'; meaning of the term, it%26#39;s more for industry and business. There%26#39;s an Automobile Museum there. It%26#39;s in the Anting ';sub-district'; of Jiading district in Shanghai. I just went to Jiading district yesterday, but only to Jiading and Nanxiang ';sub-district';. The F1 circuit (Shanghai International Circuit) is also in Anting, but the two are %26gt;10 km apart by road, not very close!

Yes, you could do it as a daytrip from Shanghai downtown if you so wanted.

Take metro from wherever you are, to line 3/4 Zhenping Lu stop -- refer to http://www.exploreshanghai.com/metro for a good interactive map of Shanghai%26#39;s metro system. Go out of exit 3, find a smaller road running approximately northwest from the main elevated road (this biggie is actually the inner ring road). Approximately 250m or so from the elevated road is the starting terminus of bus line 娌畨绾? it%26#39;s an ';express'; bus with very few stops. The bus stop will be on the side of the road that%26#39;s heading towards the metro stop. The 3rd stop after the starting terminus is Boyuan Lu (鍗氬洯璺? which will be where you want to alight.

The other bus that would get you there, is a slower bus called 瀹夎櫣绾? Take metro from wherever you are, to line 2 western terminus Songhong Lu. From the metro stop, walk east on Tianshan Xilu (澶╁北瑗胯矾), then turn right (south) on Songhong Lu (娣炶櫣璺?, then turn left into Xinyu Lu (鏂版笖璺?. The bus stop should be on the left side of the road, heading back to the direction you came from. Ask the conductor/driver to let you off at Boyuan Lu x Moyu Nanlu (鍗氬洯璺ⅷ鐜夊崡璺?.

I wish I had people to give me such detailed transport information when I%26#39;m trying to find my way somewhere... -sigh-
