Visa on Arrival Shenzhen LO WU available again.

You can now get Visas at the Lo Wo border.

UK passports are okay but US and a few other nationalities who cannot get visa on arrival before the Olympic period restrictions STILL cannot.

PLEASE NOTE: as of Nov 1, they will only accept RMB for visa payment. $ 150 RMB.

No ATMs until AFTER immigration.

Hope this helps, as there have been many previous posts asking about this.

get what in Hong Kong?

If Chinese Rmb, you can get from many Bank of China ATMs which are part of the international visa network. Or, money changes will sell it, as will most banks (with commission).

If a Chinese visa, you can get a full 30 day single entry in person at the Visa office in Wanchai for HK$150. Or you can get a 5 day Shenzhen one at the border.

We tried to get visa at the border last year. It was after christmas, we found that the line was sooo long we have to wait more than 2 hours ( thats was the earlier people in line said), no chair and the place is very dirty...so with 2 little kids we think b we better went back to HK. Unfortunetly the people at immigration refuse to let us go back since we have to pass the immigration to head back.. after a long explanation about our kids too tired to wait the visa line, (n I guess after half an hour they can not stand my 2 kids who really bored there) they let us go back through special way like if they need to send people back that are not welcome in ShenZhen.... ha2... we were kind of scared but really want to go back to HK asap.

Very glad to ride the train back to HK, my advice here... if you can, better get your visa at your local area or from HK agency in Hong Kong... you dont want to spend hours at the immigration office especially with kids or older people....
