Currency Used in Shenzhen Hong Kong Dollars ok??

Travelling into Shenzhen tomorrow for the day can HK$%26#39;s be used in Luo Hu Shopping centre

Maybe you can at some shops, but you won%26#39;t get a great rate given the declining value of the HK$ with the Chinese Rmb. Better to change HK$ to Rmb, or use am ATM to withdraw Rmb first.

Also, if you are getting a visa at the border, you need to pay in Rmb.

Great thanks for your reply

Do they have money exchange in the shopping centre? Or should we change here in HK before we go? I have been told that the shopping operational hours are 10:00 am to 10:00 pm do you know if this is correct???

Kind Regards

You can change money either in Hong Kong or in Lo Wu. Rates will be similar. Be careful about fake 100 Rmb notes, and only accept new ones - no tears /sellotape / writing on them.

See here for some pictures of fake ones.

The shopping hours seem about right.

Many tailors do not open until 11 am and close around 8.30pm, ime.

Thanks Drumbrake

It would appear that we have come across two fake ones in the money we have changed here in Hong Kong unless they are older notes and do not have the ';$100'; water make in the bottom left corner.

We had a change of plans and are now heading over in the morning heres hoping all goes well

Thanks again for your help cheers

I think there%26#39;re 2 slightly different versions of the Mao 100 RMB notes, produced at different times. There%26#39;s also an older version which you%26#39;re not as likely to come across: 鈥?1windows.net/China_RMB/_Img018_/RMB090.jpg
