I%26#39;m planning a bit of an epic journey for summer 08 and just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice?
The big idea is to get from Moscow to somewhere in south SE Asia (possibly Java, but I%26#39;m open to suggestion) without any air travel.
At the moment, the plan is Moscow-Ulaan Baator-Beijing-Hanoi-HCMC -Phnom Pen-Bangkok, from southern Thailand a ferry to Penang, then train to Singapore...then wherever we%26#39;re going next.
I want to stop at plenty of places along the way. We have about 6-8 weeks to do the whole trip. Where are the best places to stop, stay, and does anyone have any trips on the transport?

especially Tibet, but u need special permit to get there
besides Lijiang, Xi%26#39;an, Nanjing, Guilin are all great places

Im planning the same trip as you should have if i understood correctly completed by now. if so congradulations. !i%26#39;M planning on going the oposite way from singapore to moscow/london by train. any advice would be greatly apreciated.:)
