2nights and 3 days - what to do?

I have always wanted to visit Hong Kong and am getting my chance in July. It will be a stopover. I will be travelling with my 2 children (20 and 16)

Ok - so a few questions

- how do we get from airport to Novotel nathan rd (cheaply and safely)

- what markets are recommended.

children of course would love to shop(not for cameras)

thanks in advance

2nights and 3 days - what to do?

A21 airport bus for HK$33 a person. Takes under an hour to your hotel.

Temple Street, Ladies Market;maybe Stanley Market

2nights and 3 days - what to do?

Try Jardines, Johnston Rd, Li Yuen St. east and west.

thanks for the reliies

do I ned to prebook the bus or do you just hop on when you get out of the airport?

No need to prebook usually. Peace of mind thing for me.

A21 airport bus is a public bus that runs every 10 minutes or so. It cannot be booked in advance. Just pay correct money on boarding or use an octopus card.

Sorry - yes A21 is just a bus. I usually prebook transport at home that%26#39;s all.

Buy an Octopus Card at the MTR Service Desk at the middle of the Arrivals Hall of the airport first before heading downstairs to take the bus.

We found trains were the best way to get around (including to and from the airport) when we went for a week in late 2008.

We caught the airport train (green line) which is literally from inside the airport to Central Station and then switched over to the red line and caught the train to Jordan. Novotel Nathan Rd is very close to Jordan station - a 2 minute walk at most (with luggage!).

Another alternative is to get the airport line (green) to Kowloon and then jump in a taxi to the hotel - a quick ride of a few minutes, which won%26#39;t set you back much at all.

Because we stayed at the same hotel, I recommend going to the night markets (Temple St) they are about a 3 minute walk from the hotel and are on every night. I highly recommend trying some of the food on offer there also (was lovely to have a beer and some freshly cooked noodles/hot pots after a long hot day!)

In terms of shopping, the best variety is on Hong Kong Island in my opinion (again, only a short subway trip away), but I really enjoyed going to the Langham which is only two stops from where you%26#39;ll be.

Enjoy your trip!
