Food options around Park Hotel Tsimshatsui?

I am interested in both non-expensive restaurants not so far from that hotel (some local/traditional food preferred), as well as food shops (which provide, among the others, cans of domestic beer - if available).

Btw, what brand of local beer is worth to try in HKG?

King%26#39;s Lodge in Chatham Rd South is very close.

The Hong Kong SAR Brewing Co has beers such as Too Soo and Aldrich Bay Pale which are quite tasty. Available in East End Brewery and Inside Out (Causeway Bay).

all the side streets around your hotel (cameron, carnarvon, kimberley, granville) are filled with local restaurants.

local beer - tsing tao or san miguel. but san miguel is originally from the philippines.

Thank you both.

What about local wines (preferred red ones) and %26#39;hard%26#39; liquers (brandy or so)? Any recommendation about what such booze to try while there in HKG?

And, what about carrying a bottle or two in your checked-in luggage in flights from Shenzhen to Beijing? Is that allowed? (The same question goes for flying with the same bottles from PEK to back home Europe, + added something similar from the mainland China.)

Shenzhen to Beijing is a domestic flight so you can bring whatever you want in your check-in luggage as long as it does not violate safety regulations.

For international flights, bottles in check-in luggage is ok (but not hand luggage). However, the customs at the arrival side determines how much spirits you could bring into the country.

HK does not produce local wines or hard liquor. If you want to try red wine, Great Wall is a relatively well-known brand within China. The quality isn%26#39;t so good though compared to Western vintages. If you decide to buy wine or spirits from China, be sure to head to a large reputable shop. There are lots of fake wines out there that taste bad and may be harmful.

Try the popular Spring Deer restaurant ( you will need to book in advance ).We always go there especially when we stayed at The Park.

Try the following Vietnamese restaurant. It is just a couple minutes walk north on Chatham Road South. The cost is about $50 to $80 per person.

%26gt;%26gt; large reputable shop

Generally speaking, what do you consider as such in both Park Hotel Tsimshatsui area, as well as in PEK (Holiday Inn Central Plaza area)? I am not familiar with Chinese domestic shops, so any good experience with i.e. recommendation?

Re large reputable shop

In Hong Kong, you can buy wine from supermarkets such as Park n shop (one in Austin Av) and Wellcome (one in Kimberley Road).

Large reputable shop I referred to is about China.

In Hong Kong, if you are around Tsim Sha Tsui, I highly recommend Ponti Wine Cellar at the ground floor of Miramar Shopping Centre (next to Mira Hotel). It has good prices and selection.

Thank you all!

Btw, I will fly with AirChina from SZX to PEK with a booze bottle in my checked-in luggage, then a week later from PEK to MUC with Lufthansa (with the same bottle accompanied with another one from Beijing). Suppose that Lufthansa does not make issues with 1-2 liters, maybe bubble wrapped, in the checked bag?
